The Western Digital WD Purple 8TB WD85PURZ is a high-capacity surveillance hard drive designed specifically for 24×7 DVR and NVR security recording systems. With 8TB of storage, it provides substantial capacity for continuous surveillance video recording in homes, offices, retail stores, warehouses and commercial security installations. The WD85PURZ features CMR recording technology, 256MB cache, 5640RPM rotational speed and a SATA 6Gb/s interface, with transfer rates of up to 215MB/s. It supports up to 64 HD cameras and systems with up to 16 drive bays. WD Purple drives incorporate AllFrame technology, which is designed to optimize surveillance video recording and playback and help reduce video frame loss.
